Unlocking the Divine Geometry of the Quran through Recitation and Reflection

In this method of recitation and writing, I have been guided to follow a particular sequence that interweaves certain Surahs of the Quran. This sequence has shown itself to be more than just a spiritual practice — it feels like a divine pattern that mirrors deep truths, including the structure of our existence.

We see the mapping out of the order of recitation, tafsir and writing to the left.

The Process:

The following steps detail the order in which I recite and write, with a focus on connecting the spiritual, mathematical, and neurological layers within us:

  1. Surah Ya-Sin (36)
Often referred to as the "heart of the Quran," Surah Ya-Sin holds a central place in the process. Reciting it first aligns the mind, body, and spirit, as it offers a powerful introduction to the deeper wisdom of the Quran.

  2. Surah Ar-Rahman (55)
This Surah, with its repeated emphasis on divine blessings and creation, plays a crucial role in preparing the mind to absorb higher frequencies of knowledge. Its rhythmic nature supports a flow of balance and harmony, building the structure for the process ahead.

  3. Surah Al-Fath (48)
Surah Al-Fath speaks of the victory and blessings from Allah, a powerful reminder of the fruits of perseverance and trust in the divine plan. It creates a foundation of gratitude and openness to spiritual advancement.

  4. Surah Al-Waqia (56)
Surah Al-Waqia speaks about the events of the Day of Judgment, yet also focuses on the contrast between the righteous and the wicked. This serves to create a reflection upon the personal journey and growth we must undergo, grounding the practitioner in their own potential.

Optional but Recommended:

  • Surah Al-Kahf (18)
Surah Al-Kahf is known for its stories of perseverance, faith, and the protection of Allah. It is recommended for those who seek spiritual resilience and guidance.

  • Surah Maryam (19)
Surah Maryam highlights the virtues of piety, patience, and the miraculous nature of divine intervention. It helps strengthen the bond with the sacred.

  • Surah Taha (20)
Surah Taha offers profound lessons from the stories of Prophet Musa and other prophets. It invites the practitioner to reflect on the importance of following divine guidance with unwavering faith.

The Tafsir Journey:

An important part of this process involves the recitation of three tafsirs simultaneously. As I was guided, each tafsir serves as a different perspective that deepens the understanding of the Quranic verses. I was led to the number of verses for each source based on the divine wisdom encoded within them.

The process begins at the center of the Quran, moving outward, then back again to the center, and finally to the front of the Quran. This unique order of recitation reflects a profound journey through the sacred text. As you engage with this journey, you'll begin to notice that the order aligns with specific patterns, almost as if the Quran itself is revealing a cosmic structure.

This journey gives us the imagery that you see in the image accompanying this post. The structure of recitation mirrors the divine patterns in creation, resembling sacred geometry and even the structure of DNA. Through this, we come to understand that the Quran is not only a spiritual guide but a map for deeper truths, encoded in both the words and the order of those words.

The Weekly Practice:

On a weekly basis, I also incorporate the recitation of the four core Surahs — Surah Yasin (36), Surah Ar-Rahman (55), Al-Fath (48), Al-Waqia (48) These Surahs offer a foundational structure of supplication, protection, and purity, grounding the practitioner in constant spiritual renewal.

Ongoing Practice:

Meanwhile, I am continuously working on Quranic recitation in both Arabic and English, starting from Surah Fatiha to Surah Nas. This practice not only deepens my connection with the language but also strengthens my understanding of the meanings in both languages.

Additionally, I incorporate Ziarats (visits of blessing and supplication) and Duas of the Day into my practice. These supplications, said at specific times of the day or for particular purposes, help align my inner state with the divine and reinforce the transformative power of the Quran.

Ahle Bayt (AS) Practices Integrated into the Daily Routine:

The following Ahle Bayt (AS) practices are interwoven into my daily routine in a specific method and day, connecting me with the profound spiritual lineage of the Holy Family:

  • Ziarat e Ashura
  • Ziarat e Ahle Yasin
  • Ziarat Jamea Kabira
  • Dua Tawasul
  • Al Warissa
  • Hadith e Kisa (AS) Dua
  • Dua Kumayl
  • Dua Nudba
  • The Duas and Ziarats of each Imam (AS) or group of Imams (AS), and the Holy Prophet (SAW) and Lady Fatima (AS) of their respective days.
  • Lady Zaynab (AS), Hazrat Abbas (AS), Lady Masouma (AS), Shah Abdul Adhim (AS)
  • Ziarat AminAllah
  • Nabi Nuh (AS), Nabi Adam (AS)
  • The Shahids of Karbala
  • Hazrat Ali Akbar (AS)

These Ziarats and Duas hold a central role in my practice, allowing me to connect not only to the divine but also to the sacred individuals who were the spiritual pillars of Islam.

In addition to these, the recitation and writing of Nahjul Fasaha, Nahjul Balagha, Sahifah Al Sajjadiya, Risalatul Huqquq, Tawhid Al Mufadhal and Imam Ali Ar-Ridha's (AS) Golden Treatise are integrated into the process.

This document has been distributed for the last 5 years and will eventually be brought here to further enrich the practice and experience.  The process has been an ongoing journey for 19 years.
